Peter Durey, the Managing Director of H.E. Services (Plant Hire) Limited said "I have been looking for an appropriate substantial base in the area for over a year and am very pleased to have been able to conclude the arrangements for the purchase of this site at Langley Park, no more than a couple of miles from the City of Durham".

The 16 acre site together with 16,000 ft² of offices and workshops will form the basis for further expansion for H.E. Services in the North of England. Andy Dobson, the Depot Manager, said "The substantial facilities and ultra-modern plant fleet that we now have here in Durham will enable H.E. Services to increase their coverage of the north of England, substantially. We will be running the full range of H.E. Services plant from here in Durham, including JCB Backhoe Loaders, JCB Mini Excavators, Takeuchi Midi Excavators, Komatsu Excavators, Thwaites Dumpers, Hydrema Dumptrucks, Manitou Telehandlers, Case Skidsteer Loaders, Cat Rollers and Indeco Breakers".

Hugh Edeleanu, the Chairman of H.E. Services has stated that he intends to continue the expansion of H.E. Services throughout the UK, not only with wider coverage but also increased market share in all areas. On the opening of the new Durham facility, Hugh Edeleanu said: "Andy Dobson, as Depot Manager, has pulled together an excellent team of Fitters, Drivers and Office Staff and can now offer an unrivalled service throughout the north of England. The majority of machines being put into this new Depot are brand new so that our customers in this area will be able to benefit from this £2 million project".
